Accessiblilty AAA
ore than 10% of the population may be unable to use your website if it's inaccessible.
There are at least 400,000 registered disabled people in Ireland. More than 10% of the population may be unable to use your website if it's inaccessible. X Communications have an inclusive user-centred design process. We believe that developing an accessible web site contributes to overall usability and ultimately delivers a better interface design for all users not to mention the substantial Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) benefits.
We develop all new web sites to Level AA (2) of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and the Irish National Disability Authority IT Accessibility Guidelines at a minimum for no extra charge. X Communications has recently completed the redesign of the Rehab group website, this website is a benchmark for accessibility in Ireland with a WAI Priority level AAA (3) achieved. Recent disability and accessibility legislation particularity in the UK (DDA) and US (508) indicate the growing need for private companies to have accessible websites.

- and ICADs (2004), (2002), (2000) and (1998)

X Communications also developed the Arts Council revenue website which won a merit award at the 2006 Innovation through Technology Award.
Usability is central to the success of any website or application. We go to great lengths, including independent third-party testing, if appropriate, to ensure that what we design and develop is completely usable by our target audience. The start-point for us is the website visitor: who are they, what do they want to achieve, why will they visit the website. Please contact us today to see how we can make your website more Usability focused or if you like to carry out third-party Usability testing on your site.
