Our specialist multimedia design expertise has been applied to museum artefacts, business proposals, complex stories, newsletters and quirky communications - we have turned each into unique interactive user experiences. We work on a wide range of delivery platforms and technologies including Macromedia Flash and Director. X Communications has developed DVD/CD ROM applications for the following clients:

Trinity College Library Dublin

The Book of Kells DVD ROM is the only authorised digital version of the Book of Kells. The DVD contains a digitised version of every page of the Book of Kells along with 29 explanatory videos. One of the key features of the DVD is the ability to examine every page in detail using a specially developed zoom tool. The DVD demonstrates X Communications ability to present a large volume of information through an easily navigable and elegantly designed interface.

Irish Life and Permanent

X Communications have developed a number of CD ROMs for presentation to brokers and customers, providing information and support on Irish Life and Permanents product range.

Microsoft Ireland

'Microsoft in Ireland (Serving the European Market)' was developed by X Communications to promote Microsoft Ireland's activities in the area of localisation and testing to the European Business Community.

The Chester Beatty Library

X Communications designed and developed the CD ROM 'The Chogonka Scroll' an interactive exploration of a Japanese masterpiece of the seventeenth century based on an epic poem. The CD features 5 language options, English, Japanese, Irish, French and German.

EBS

X Communications were commissioned by EBS to produce a CD presentation developed in Flash to illustrate the activities and services of EBS information Technology division.

The Irish Trade Board

'Ireland The World Centre Of Localisation' is a CD ROM produced for the Irish Trade Board to promote Ireland as a centre of excellence for localisation of software products to an international audience.

Dchas

X Communications also developed a 5-minute looping DVD on the activities and functions of Duchas the Heritage Service, which is currently on display in a vertically suspended 42" plasma screen in the foyer of Dn Scine, Duchas' offices on Harcourt Lane. Working on this project has provided an awareness of the work of the National Monuments Section. X Communications liaised with the archive office and photographers working with the heritage services to produce the DVD.

The National Gallery

'Master European Paintings', 1994, was one of the first projects developed by X Communications. It was produced to support the launch of a major exhibition sponsored by IBM.
