The Challenge
Sammy Leslie, the owner of Castle Leslie, has a strong commitment to heritage and culture. She has built up Castle Leslie over the last 20 years and embarked on an ambitious regeneration and restoration programme for the Castle and its surroundings. Castle Leslie has an imposing presence on the small village of Glaslough -as you drive into the village, the castle walls dominate and steer you into the small village square.
Castle Leslie has been a source of employment for many of the people in the locality – the community has contributed to the sustainability and the growth of the Castle and now it is time to share in its success. Sammy has built cottages and houses on the grounds of the Castle Leslie estate adjoining the village of Glaslough. The houses have been designed to provide a seamless extension to Glaslough village. Built around a Village Square and Green, these classically proportioned homes with slate roofs, sliding sash windows, open fires, cut limestone and salvage brick, are built to be timeless. The development was designed to be as sympathetic as possible to the current style of the existing village. All proceeds from the sale of the houses are re-invested to fund the continual regeneration of Castle Leslie.
The sale of the houses will fund the restoration programme and future developments at Castle Leslie Estate.
The Solution
Sammy approached Marie Redmond to build a website that would promote and ultimately sell the new village houses. Sammy convinced Marie that the only way to truly understand the project was to visit Castle Leslie and to see the building and restoration first hand. How right she was and is! The work at Castle Leslie is astonishing and the care and detail that has gone into every aspect of the planning, restoration, interior and exterior design is stunning. X Communications has extensive experience in developing property websites, so we were able to build a personalised property website for Castle Leslie Real Estate and develop an online marketing strategy for selling the properties online.
The Result
The properties will be launched in late June and the website at www.castleleslieproperties.com shows detailed information on each style of house. Photography places a big role in marketing and selling properties both online and in person. The images of the houses combined with the rich visual imagery of the Castle and its grounds make this a unique property website. X Communications has developed the website so that it is optimised for Search Engines and is promoting the houses at Castle Leslie on online property portals. The final result will be the sale of all the properties in order to fund the on-going restoration programme for Castle Leslie.
